Weekend Warriors

Just spending a relaxing weekend at home. I truly love being at home, and enjoy staying caught up on all the little things that can pile up so quickly when you are busy.

We have Rustin and Elijah with us this weekend. Jakob loves being with his cousins and we all love spending more one on one time with family. We are planning to go the park today with Aaron, Melissa, and Noah. It was cloudy this morning, but it is sunny now and it will be fun to spend some time outside with everyone. I'm ready for sunny weather and outdoor activities!!

Steve is getting all the last minute organization done to start his business. He has taken a few calls, but hasn't put his name out there yet. After starting the business in Utah and learning so much he has a better idea of what needs to be done. He knows how quickly business comes and wants to start out being truly organized and prepared. This next week he will be getting his name out there and we will be ready to go!! Exciting!

Isabelle's standing!!

Today Isabelle pulled herself up to a standing position! She did it downstairs while I was sitting on the couch, she pulled herself up using the couch and stood for a couple minutes. Later, when she was suppose to be falling asleep in her bed, I walked by and she had pulled herself up with the bars so she could stand in her crib! She is growing so fast!

GREEN!

Jakob favorite color is green! He hasn't had a favorite color before, so this is very exciting! I'm not big on asking him his favorites, so he came up with this on his own. He seems to add green to everything he colors. I love how he is his own person, able to choose what he likes and what he doesn't. He has his preferences!

Jakob also is enjoying playing on pbskids.com. He can sit and play the games on the computer and do it all by himself. Such a big boy! Of course I have to watch and make sure he doesn't stay on all day. So fun to watch him grow and learn!

Stuffy nose and more!

Isabelle woke up Monday with a stuffy nose. I didn't see any signs of her being sick before, so it seems to have come on quickly. Her teeth have been coming in and I don't know if that has had something to do with it. Our sleep has been broken these last few nights. She has been waking up because of her teeth. She seems really happy, even with her teeth coming in and with this cold. She is so sweet! I hate seeing her sick!

Organizing Our Home

It looks like Steve is ready to start his business! We have been trying to get all of our storage areas in our home organized. We also are trying to get the office with all the business paperwork and supplies labeled and orderly. Love the feeling of being organized! Organization has always come easy to me, finding the time to do it is another story! It takes constant effort everyday.

I have found in my quest to have a more efficient home that having the right containers to organize things in helps so much! My next purchase will be a set of cubby hole bookshelves and baskets for all the kids toys, crafts, and educational items. So excited to get that set up!

Isabelle's Growing Up!

Isabelle has 3 teeth coming in, she is clapping, almost crawiling (she kindof shuffles, rolls, and scoots along), and she is saying ma-ma-ma-ma (my personal favorite.) It is so fun to watch how much she is changing each day. She is a very happy girl! The other night I put down to bed and she just started crying and saying ma-ma-ma. Of course this was one of the first times she had actually said it and it was so hard not to run in the room and grab her up! She knows what she likes and what she does not like. She likes cereal, books to chew on, her mom, dad, and Jakob, silly sounds, funny faces, going for walks, and picking up tiny things on the ground and inspecting them! (Very dangerous, I have to make sure nothing small is anywhere near her.) She doesn't like going to bed, getting her diaper changed, any baby food with chicken or beef, her carseat, and being set down when she wants to be held. She makes the cutest expressions when she thinks something is funny. Her face just lights up with the biggest smile and she squints her eyes! Too cute! Are almost 9-month old beauty!

Easter Weekend

Yesterday we had an Easter Egg Hunt at Jaycine and Colin's house with all of the Moon Family that are here. It was so fun to see them and to watch Jakob with his cousins and Isabelle loved up by everyone. Today we woke up to Easter Egg Baskets and had a wonderful day at church. Loved seeing Isabelle in her Easter dress. It was so good to come home to a turkey dinner! The Turkey and gravy were wonderful (Steve helped with the gravy!), it almost felt like one of my mom's homecooked meals. We are planning to end the evening by watching The Testaments that Grandma and Grandpa Moon got us for Easter. What a nice weekend!

Isabelle's Talking

Isabelle has been saying da-da-da-da-da, well, you get the idea! It is so cute! I'm now always trying to get her to say ma-ma-ma-ma-ma. Of course she just watches me intently with those big brown eyes and says back to me, da-da-da-da-da. The other day as I was going through trying to get her to say mama, Jakob turns, looks at Isabelle, and says, "Jakob -- Jakob." Very cute!

Life's Busy Days

Since the family left two weeks ago I have been trying to get our family back on a normal schedule and dealing with the many things we need to do to settle into our home. I'm working on the kid's room this week and will post pictures when I finish. I'm hoping to figure out a schedule that keeps us on track but is also flexible. I know that it will be ever changing as life changes, but I hope to find a system that works best for us and can adapt easily. Part of that schedule will have me posting to my blog at least every other day. Such lofty goals!! One day I will have it all figured out but I'm enjoying today and looking forward to tomorrow.
