Summer Haircut

Steve took Jakob into get a haircut. Steve likes it short!! I'm hoping the top will grow back for his 5 year old pictures!!! We'll see.

A Conversation

I got out Jakob's summer clothes yesterday. He was trying them on this morning and found a shirt that was too small. He ran back to his room to try on a different shirt. Coming back into the bathroom, with me peeking around the shower curtain we had this conversation.

Jakob: "Look, this shirt fits."

Me: "Good, it looks very nice."

Jakob: "Mom, its an exercise shirt."

Me: "Its a basketball shirt."

Jakob: "Yeah"

Me: "You look very nice Jakob."

Jakob: "You look, (pause), almost very clean Mom."

Summer Days!!

How I love Summer Days and we got a glimpse of what is to come. Today was warm and the kids played out in the backyard with Steve. They all have so much fun together. Later, they ventured out to the front and Steve and Jakob rode bikes for awhile. I even ventured out. I could only sit in the van, it reclined, but I hung out in there with Isabelle for awhile. It is so wonderful to be outside in the sunshine. Promise to have Steve take some pictures next time!!

Yesterday we had someone come to look at our house so we left and took a ride in our van. I reclined the seat, opened the window, and just told Steve to keep driving. It felt so good to be out of the house and to smell the outdoors. I can't wait to be off bedrest. I would love to go to the beach, go on a walk, anything to get outside. It will come, I won't have to lie down forever.

So Grown Up!!

Doesn't she look so big??? I think that my baby can officially be called a little girl. She was totally smiling and posing for the camera. She kept giving me these big grins and I loved to hear her say, "CHEESE!!"

SELLING??

Anyone up for buying a townhouse???? Yes, we are insane! Lets add a little more stress to this bedrest thing. We stuck the sign out in our yard the Saturday before I got put on bedrest. We talked about taking it down, but the market is so bad. We are afraid it will get worse, so we decided to see what would happen. We were only planning to stay here a year or two and move to our final home. Yes, I said final. I hope that this next home will be our last. That is the plan and it was never the plan with any of the other homes that we bought, so maybe we will stay put and stop moving, maybe. Well, we have had a few calls on it, nothing too exciting. I think we have it priced well. We will see what happens.

Scrapbook Pages and Quote

Quote I did for the page above reads:

Kiss your life.
Accept it, just as it is.
Today.
Now.
So that those moments of happiness your waiting for
don't pass you by.

Finishing Touches

Isabelle's Funny Words

Isabelle has been talking so much more lately. Just wanted to post a few words that I love to hear Isabelle say.

Water - wa-wee
Thank You - tank tu
Excuse ME - me me

I'm so glad that she started saying water!! Before when she wanted water she would cry and wine until I figured out what she wanted. I felt so bad when I realied she was just thirsy.

She loves to say thank you, and says it all the time. What a polite girl.

Another thing I love to hear her say is yeah. She says it in this calm, serious way that is just adorable. Hard to describe in writing.

Doctor's Visit

I had my 28 week appointment today and everything checked out great!! I'll be 29 weeks on Saturday. (For those of you who don't speak pregnancy, 40 weeks is full-term. But 36 weeks is considered safe to have a baby, everything is developed, aka I can get off bedrest. I had both of my kids at 37 weeks, we'll see if we can last that long with this one.)

I don't know why I get so nervous before I go in for an appointment. I always fear she will send me to the hospital and I will be stuck there for a few weeks. For the most part, I'm not that worried about this pregnancy. Bedrest seems to be working and I have confidence that this baby will stay where he needs to til he is ready to come out. This being said, the night before and the morning of my doctor's visits I get so nervous and just imagine the worst. Well, no need to worry today. Everything went great and I really feel like I am on my way to being done with this bedrest thing. Only 7 1/2 weeks to go!! Sigh.....that still is a really long time!!
Here is what my little guy could look like at 29 weeks. Below I posted a little update on what a 29 week baby is up to.

Your baby is busy getting ready for the birthday! The baby is beginning to regulate his own temperature and the bone marrow is completely in charge of production of the red blood cells. The baby is even urinating about a half liter of urine into the amniotic fluid everyday!
The movements that you feel will probably begin to change at this point. Once your baby held wild gymnastic parties, now as the space becomes cramped you notice smaller movements, such as elbows and knees. Try monitoring the baby yourself, using fetal kick counts.
Your baby weighs in at about two pounds nine ounces (1.16 kilograms)!

(If he only weighs 2 pounds 9 ounces, where has all this other weight come from?? One of the many mysteries of pregnancy.)

Inspired

Inspired by this fun page on Ali Edward's blog, I did a page below. I just love her style!! I don't know how she makes simple look soooo good!!

Things To Get and One Thing I Got

Sooooo..........what do I do all day?? Now that I have figured out how to recline at the computer I spend at least an hour or two or more a day on looking, scrapbooking, downloading, and even buying. That nesting instinct doesn't just magically go away when you are on bedrest. Oh no, it would be so nice if it did, but I have to fight it off everyday. I want to get ready for this baby, badly!!! What, you may ask, is my strategy for conquering this gut instinct inside of me and still obeying my doctor?? Well, I have been researching baby items on the computer. I may not be able to buy them now, or ever, but at least I can look and get an idea of what I want. I just sit and imagine what I will do when I can get off bedrest!! You know, when I finally get off bedrest, have this baby, am nursing all day, awake all night, trying to adjust to three children, and getting my house and life back in order after 3 months of not doing much. I'm sure I'll have plenty of time then. At least I will be well rested.

So, here are a few things I love and would really, really, really, really like to get!!

Hooter Hider (Nursing Cover) Yes, that is what they are called and I love all the fun patterns and styles. This one below is at target.com.
I love all of dwell studios line of nursery bedding. So modern and clean. I want to get some items from this line of bedding below (blankets, wall decals, sheets, etc.), but I actually just got another crib set from Wal-mart. They will go great together. If I was having a girl I know exactly what dwell set I would get. Maybe with our next one.
Finally, decided what crib I want. Can't believe I am going with white, but I am loving it!! I see it on so many blogs, and this modern ikea crib, you can't beat the price! My neighbor bought one and she has really liked it. Only problem is it does not fit a crib skirt! I guess I will be using that crib skirt I bought to make curtains, pillows, a quilt, etc. I really like this changing table from ikea, but I'm still not sure it is the one I want. I found another ikea changing table that will convert back to just a regular storage shelf and I think I may want that one. Funny thing is, I can find the picture of this other table online, but I can't find where to buy it. I may have to go to the store and try to find it there. Again, something I have to wait for. Sigh.... Any little newborn boy outfit from naartjie. I love this store and almost bought a couple little outfits right before I went on bedrest. I could order some online, but I think I would rather wait and get them from the store. I don't know. They are all so cute, soft, and cozy. They have such fun stripes and animal prints. I would love to put my little guy in one of their outfits.
This I know I want, the Joovey Stroller. Such a great stroller for families with more than one kid. Your baby goes in the front and your toddler can sit or stand in the back. Love the orange and black and all the clean lines.

And this lovely jj cole diaper bag. I just bought it yesterday from Amazon.com. Love the modern look and the colors. It has pockets for everything and can fit on the back of your stroller. It also comes with the second smaller bag to put diapers and wipes in. A quick grab and go if you need to change a diaper and don't want to take your huge bag. Love that. I'm hoping I will like it as much as I think I will.

Thanks Mom

My mom was in town and she was such a lifesaver!! Such excitement for all of us, such a relief to Steve, such a help to our little home, so wonderful to have her here. She is an amazing women and we are so grateful she is in our lives. With three new grandbabies coming this summer, trips planned to see each one, a huge project of refinishing the basement at home, her busy calling at church as Primary President, and all the other little things she does each day, I'm just so appreciative of her willingness to help. She obviously wasn't planning on coming to Oregon again until the baby came, but when I called her and told her about going on bedrest she asked me when and for how long. Thanks Mom, you are the best!!

Typing

Necessity is the mother of invention. I've figured out a way to recline at the computer and type. It is fairly simple process, but it took me 5 weeks to figure it out. I'm very excited to be able to do this!! I'm five weeks into this bedrest thing and looking for other things to do, I'm tired of the things that I have been doing. I truly can't wait for this to be over, but I'm so glad it is working!! I have been able to do a bunch of things on the computer, finally getting around to organizign my pictures by subject and date, digital scrapbooking, organizing and deleting my files, ordering things online, researching things that we would like to buy, etc. I still have 8 weeks left of this bedrest thing, so I'm pleased that I finally figured out how to recline and type. I think I will be doing a few more things and will be posting more.

Digital Scrapbooks

I have discovered something productive I can do while reclining. I have been wanting to learn how to do digital scrapbooking for awhile, but haven't had the time to learn how to do it. Well, time is not a problem now and it is something I can do while I recline and just click the mouse.
Very exciting to me!!
Below are some pages I've done. I haven't sent them to be printed yet, so I'm hesitant to get too excited. I'm scared I might not like the look of the prints, but I'm hopeful that they will turn out. I'm so very excited to keep up with my scrapbooking. Maybe I will get caught up before the baby gets here!!

Check-up

I went to the doctor today and everything is staying the same, which is great news. Of course I'm so relieved to know that this bedrest thing is really working. I've got 9 more weeks of this, but it will be so worth it to have a healthy baby boy.

My mom has been here to help this last week and it has been wonderful to have her. She just takes over and does everything, without me having to say anything. It has also been so good to just sit and talk with her about EVERYTHING, such a great distraction from the boredom of bedrest. I appreciate her taking the time to come, I know that her life is busy and it isn't easy to get away.

Well, I'll keep you posted.
