Steve powerwashed the fence and decks and Jakob decided to help a bit.

Then he got a little crazy and decided to spray his dad.
Of course, Jakob wanted in on the fun.

Family In Town

My family came into town a couple weeks ago for Karter and cousin Paige's blessings. It was great to have them here. Not a lot of candid shots, but one with the three cousins all lined up and some of Grandma and Grandpa with most of the grandbabies.

Guess Who Has A New Calling??

That's right!! I love serving at church and I miss it when I don't have a calling. I'm in Primary teaching the 11 year olds!! I'm so excited for this calling. I taught for the first time today and really enjoyed it. My goal is to get my lessons done the week before so they are not hanging over my head all week long. I finished my lesson for next week today (I even did the little handout) so I am set for next week. So proud of myself. It did take up a chunk of my Sunday, but what a great sabbath day activity. We'll see if I can keep it up!!

I thought we were done with this, but the doctor thinks Karter may still have a touch of Jaundice. She calls it Breast Milk Jaundice. Sooooo, she took some blood from Karter today to test him and I have to stop breastfeeding and formula feed for 3 days. I go back in on Monday to get him retested. His Jaundice should clear up significantly by then. I got him tested a lot during his first month and his levels were never that high, but he never got rid of the yellow. I hope this is what will finally clear up the problem.

Letter to Jakob

Dear Jakob,

You were so excited to start school and I couldn't help but wonder if you would always feel this way. I was a bit nervous to let you go! Another step for you out in the big world, in a place where I can't protect you as much as I would like to. You were so ready to start school, so ready to be around your peers, to learn and discover. When your dad gave you a blessing the Monday before you started school he asked you what you wanted to be blessed with, you said you wanted to make friends. I know that friendship is so important to you. I pray that you will choose your friends wisely, they will be a great influence on you. I hope you will love the process of learning and take advantage of every opportunity to learn. I hope that you push yourself to do your best. I love you, my boy, and feel so blessed to be your mother. You have taught me so much about love, patience, and discovery. I feel priviledged to watch you as you journey through this life. What a big step you have made!! Love you!!

Jakob's First Day of School

Well, it's official, Jakob is now a Kindergartener. I can't believe my little guy has started school. He was so ready to start school, so excited to go that first day. We got all the shopping done, all the papers filled out, and even got his hair cut. Steve and I both took him to school that first day. I was confused on the time and we got there a half an hour early. We sat around and waited with him and watched all the kids arrive. Finally it was time and we took him to class. He walked in like a Pro, didn't bat an eye, and got right into it. I was so proud of him. He came home that day so excited to have gone to school. He was a little upset that he didn't get to ride the bus. One step at a time. I don't know if I'm ready for the bus!

Wow!! Crazy Days!

So, it has been a wonderful, crazy, full week for us. We had all of our Huish family come into town on Tuesday, Jakob started school Wednesday, we are blessing Karter tomorrow, and cousin Paige is being blessed this Sunday. Just wanted to let you know why you haven't seen many posts. Since most of the people that read this blog are here visiting, I guess there aren't to many people out there that will be disappointed. I will post Jakob's first day of school pics soon!!! (Yes, we did stay on top of life enough to snap some photos.)

Getting Ready . . . .

Feeding Karter

Look how happy this little girl is to feed her brother. I try to give her opportunities to spend time with him since a lot of the time I'm trying to keep her away from him. She was so proud of herself!!

I'm not sure Karter felt the same way.

Oh, how she loves this little guy.

The Things He Says!

Jakob: When I'm scared at night I come to your side of the bed because I like you.

Me: I like you too.

Jakob: Because I love you.

Me: I love you too.

Jakob: When I wake up and I am handsome will you tell me I'm handsome??
