Celebrating Halloween: Carving the Pumpkin

Celbrating Halloween: Making A Festive Meal

This a recipe I got from my sister-in-law, Melissa. You can get it here!! It was fun to make, smells so good, and tastes delicious!!!! Thanks Melissa!

Celebrating Halloween: Visiting the Pumpkin Patch

This guy was amazing!! I couldn't believe all the fun faces he did!! Of course, Jakob wanted to be Spiderman, not my favorite, but Jakob loved it!!

It has been our tradition to visit the pumpkin patch every October with the Moon family. We have a favorite one that we go to with a boat, a train, animals, lots of pumpkins, and more. Last year we found and visited an apple farm that is close to our home and we went again this year. So much fun!! We go on a tractor ride, get our face painted, and go through two hay mazes. We live in such a beautiful part of the world and this autumn has been just gorgeous!!

Celebrating Halloween: Inspired by the Season

Well, I have been wanting to bring orange into my very red home. Being inspired by this season and all the beautiful orange decor, I decided to go for it. I WAS going to get a bike for my birthday, but it is hard to get excited about a bike when you are entering Oregon's rainy season. SO, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Inspired by Pottery Barn, purchased at Target, I just loves these frames. I brought them home on my birthday and Steve put them up that night. (Thanks Babe!) Most of you that commented on the last post suggesting doing couple pictures. I agree, but most of the pictures I want to do (wedding and engagement) are on negatives. I have to get them put on a disk and I was too impatient to wait, so I decided to do some family shots for now and replace them with Steve and I when I get the negative mess worked out. Now that I can see the family pictures on the wall I really think our room needs pictures of just us. So, thanks again for all your great advice and hopefully I can get some pictures of us up soon. Well, here are the pictures of our room.

Celebrating Halloween: Decorations

I kept it really simple this year and just mainly focused on the mantel. I've really enjoyed the bits of orange that are sprinkled through my house. It is amazing how one little color can make you feel so festive.

Decorating the mantel this year was really fun. I started with an idea from the Creating Keepsakes Magazine and just went with it. I added things little by little (I'm glad I started so early in the season) and am pleased with the result. I'm planning to swap out a couple Halloween things and just carry it over into November.

Advice Needed.

So, I'm working on the wall arrangement above my bed in our bedroom and I need your help. I have purchased 5 frames, inspired by pottery barn, purchased at Target. I need help deciding what pictures to put in the frame. I have three ideas. Please leave a comments and help me out!! Also, should I do colored photos, black and white, or a mixture of both.

  1. Pictures of just Steve and I.
  2. Pictures of our family, random shots.
  3. Individual shots of each member of the family.

Steve and I

I mostly have engagement shots, which I love. I think I could get a couple wedding shots, I just have to find my film. Here are a few I pulled up. I think this would look great in our room, since it is our room, pictures of us. I could also throw in a couple individual shots of us. Would that be weird?? Is there something strange about individual shots of yourself on the wall after you reach a certain age?

Okay, I realized as I'm collecting these pictures that I don't have a lot of individual shots of Steve. I will have to correct that problem. Since the boy is extremely photogenic, I shouldn't have any problem getting some gorgeous shots of him.
