Finally, I'm starting to scrapbook again. The page below is documenting the photos that my friend Amy took that I blogged about earlier. I just loves these photos and I really loved how the page turned out. The spread is two 12x12 side by side. I've already slipped it into his book. The text reads:

When my friend Amy offered to take some photos of you I was so excited. It still took me a about three months to finally get together with her to get them done. I was hoping you would be happy during the photo shoot. I was pleasantly surprised with how well you did during the photos, you should have been tired and hungry! I had a bottle ready for you to drink, but you didn't need much. You were happy and content while Amy snapped photos of you. She called me the evening after she took them and was excited for all the beautiful photos she got of you. When I finally got to see them I was thrilled with the result. Karter, these photos capture you!! Your sweetnessa nd beauty, your many looks, your smiles and innocence. You will not stay this way for long, but I feel I have been blessed with these photos that have frozen time. You are so loved by us all and such a blessing to our family. We all adore you and love being with you. You are such a good boy and I can already feel of your goodness and love. Always remember the innocence that you carry with you, you are truly our miracle from heaven!

6 Months Old

Weighing in at 19 lbs 4 oz, can you believe it?? Karter had his checkup today and his doctor says he looks great. He is in the 95 percentile for height and 70 percentile for weight. I can't believe how big he is!! He is almost sitting up and grabbing and playing with everything. He loves to talk, lots of goos and gahs, his little voice melts my heart!! We have started solids but he isn't that interested!! We are still working through the vegetables, I'm sure he will like eating more when we start with the bananas and peaches. He still isn't rolling over and I have been worried. The doctor reminded me that he was a month early, so really he is only 5 months old developmentally. He also said that a lot of babies that are bigger don't roll over as much because it is difficult for them to move their heavy bodies. My little chunk!! I just love this little guy and feel so blessed to have him healthy and strong.


Isabelle decided to put these glasses on him. I'm so glad an eye was not injured in the process. She loves her brother, as you can see, sometime she just loves him a little too much!!

What to do with your Christmas Cards??

I love getting Christmas Cards/Letters, it truly is one of my favorite parts of Christmas, reconnecting with family and friends. Well, I didn't like having this stack of cards I didn't know what to do with at the end of the season. I got this idea from one of Ali Edward's books and I just love it. I did it last year and I did it again this year. I just took my square punch and took bits and peices from cards, letters, and pictures. I make sure I get parts of everyone from each photo, I try to punch out handwriting and signatures from the letters, and I punch my favorite parts of some cards. I don't get everything from each person's correspondence, but I end up with pieces of each documented for years to come.

Ready To Eat!!

Karter was wanting some of Steve's food the other night. Poor boy, you will just have to wait!! We are finally starting him on solids, but all he has had thus far is rice cereal!! It has taken me awhile to get started. We are on peas this week and hopefully he will have his first taste tonight. We will see how it goes. (Steve's eating quiche, if you were wondering.)

A Cowboy Snowman.

Grandpa Huish helped my little boy make his cowboy snowman. He had been talking about making this snowman for most of the winter and finally found someone who would go out and help him build it.

Captain Moroni

So, ofcourse, my son loves Captain Moroni. And what boy wouldn't?? All the swords, armor, fighting, etc. So, tonight Jakob asked me to tell him the story about Captain Moroni, the one where they take the wig off the guy. Is that how a five year hold interprets getting scalped? I just have to laugh at the things that come out of his mouth sometimes.

It Hurts To Be Beautiful

Isabelle has had a hard time with me fixing her hair. These times we spend together working on her hair are filled with her pulling away and crying out in pain. NOT FUN!! I remember my mom sitting me up in the buster seat on the bathroom counter and fixing my hair. I didn't like it any better then Isabelle does. My mom always told me that it hurts to be beautiful, not much comfort for a toddler, but there is wisdom in that phrase. Well, I told Isabelle yesterday that it hurts to be beautiful. She repeated it back to me, "It hurts to be Bee-Belle." Well, I guess that's true too.

Opening Presents In Utah

We left for Utah a couple days after Christmas. It took us a couple days to get there, I-84 was closed at Pendleton, but we made finally made it there Sunday night. When we got there Jakob immediately asked for his presents. (What a well mannered child, we love presents, what more can I say, I teach him well!!) We sat and opened presents with Grammy and Grampy. I was so glad we waited to open our gifts when we were together.

My Christmas Present

The Canon Rebel So excited to get this camera. It has so many bells and whistles it makes me nervous. I finally figured out how to take pictures, then I had to figure out how to upload the photos to the computer. Really, it wasn't that complicated, I just had to sit down and figure it out. I'm excited to take the time to learn how to use this thing. Thanks Steve for the wonderful Christmas gift.

Late Christmas Post

The night before Christmas.....I can't believe I didn't get any photos Christmas morning. I was too busy video taping the morning, so we did document our Christmas that way. It was so fun waking up to a room full of presents and three happy chicklets ready to enjoy it. We always open our stockings first, have a big, yummy breakfast, and then finish opening the rest of the presents. After Jakob opened his stocking he said, "This is my best Christmas ever!!" Wow, next year we'll save some money and just get the kid a stocking, so happy he was so happy. We spent the rest of the day at home, snowed in, and enjoying each others company. It was a wonderfully, relaxing day, enjoying our gifts, feeling the love and magic of Christmas, and spending time with the ones we love most.

Getting Back On Track

Wow!! It has been busy around here. A lot of catching up!! We celebrated the week of Christmas and headed off to Utah the next week. I promise to post some photos soon!! I came back to a house that needed to be cleaned from top to bottom!! What a mess. Seriously, I don't think my house has been this dirty/messy/cluttery in a long time, maybe ever!! It was bad. So, Monday morning I started working on it. Slowly I started going through the piles and cleaning up the messes. Today, I can finally say the house is back in order. So wonderful to have an orderly home, even if it just last for a moment.
