Bid Time Return

I finished this book this last week. I was surprised at how quickly it drew me in and how interested I was to find out what happened. Since I had seen the movie associated with the book, I already knew the ending, but I was still intrigued by the story. I liked how the writing changed throughout the book. It was so jarring at the beginning! I liked how the author transitioned from present day 1971 to 1896 through different writing styles.

This next week I'm starting Neverwhere by Neil Gaimon. I checked it out from the library a couple weeks ago and it is sitting on my nightstand just waiting for me to begin.

You can see my original booklist here.

31 YEARS!!

Can you believe that Steve is turning 31 today?? (I can since 31 was so last year for me and I'm glad he is catching up to me!) He was telling me the other night that he hasn't hit his prime yet, that 34 years old will be his prime. That is when he will be in the thick of it doing what he wants to do. I shared my thoughts that with raising three kids, running his own business, buying/selling/fixing up our homes, etc. that I thought he was in the thick of it right now, but he said he hasn't quite got their yet. My lovely husband.

So, in the spirit of celebrating this amazing man that I'm priviledged to call mine I will share a few things I love about him.

*I love that he is oh so sleepy in the morning, always needing to take time to wake up fully.
*I love that he loves freshly butter toast with homemade jam.
*I love that he always stops to explain the scriptures to our kids.
*I love that through the years he has only become more helpful and kind.
*I love that he takes time at any get together to circle the room and talk to everyone in the group.
*I love that he treasures his children.
*I love that he loves to talk business, and ALWAYS has a new business idea brewing.
*I love that he is super efficient in his driving.
*I love that he always makes sure we read our scriptures.
*I love that he went off refined sugar this last year.
*I love that he wants what I want out of life.
*I love that he wants to own a cow.
*I love that he picks up after himself.
*I love that he would do anything for family.
*I love that he always does his home teaching.
*I love that he dreams big!
*I love that he would rather spend time with us then with anyone else in the world!

Happy Birthday Babe!! Hope you have a great one and know how much I love you!

OMSI Fieldtrip

Isabelle went on a fieldtrip to OMSI with her Preschool. It was fun to go and like most fun things to do with kids, it was a lot of work for Mom. I wass glad we did it and glad to come home.

Done . . . For Now.

I finally got the mantel and the bookcases filled. I still want to do so much more, I'm not totally satisfied. BUT, they are done and I'm happy with how they are right now. They are (and will continue to be) a work in progress and I'm sure they will change a lot over time. I already have a few ideas of things I want to do, which will include more baby blue, some frame profiles of my favorite people, etc.

I love having all the books close at hand. The kids are staying out of the books and only getting the ones that they should (for the most part.) It is great to get these things unpacked and feel settled into our home.

Don't you just love flowers?? Did you know that my favorite flowers are Gerber Daisies?? I love them. These are some that Steve got me for Valentine's Day. Since I just bought some red ones a couple weeks before he decided to get me some gorgeous orange ones. I put them on our island with our favorite winter treat. I don't know how many bags of these Clementines I've bought in the last few months, but we sure have enjoyed them. The first time Jakob had one he asks for another, telling me he could eat these all day long! Me too!
