Another Letter To Utah

Here is a letter I sent off to Utah a few days ago.

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,

I really want you to come to my house.  And I really want to bring Apollo with you.  When you come over we go on a picnic outside when its all sunny.  And we could go on a walk with each other and wiht Apollo with us.  We could go shopping and I can buy my own Barbie.  And when we are there you and I can watch a princess movie.  And you and I could go somewhere like Costco or to the pizza place.  You and I could play games and you could be the queen, and I could be the princess, and Grandpa could be a monster.  We can be together when you're here, forever.

Thrifted Thursday

I found this jacket while out thrifting at my local Goodwill.  It was Isabelle's size and a happy addition to her wardrobe.

 I loved the touch of embroidery. 

 I also found a vintage apron with some fun embroidery and a couple of pillowcases I'm planning to use for an upcoming sewing project. 

North and South

 I finished it!  This is one that I read for a new book club and I just loved!  I believe Gaskell's writings is a mix of Dickens and Austen.  It is a beautiful love story with a lot of social unrest.  I loved the contrast between rich and poor, employer and employee, country and city.  The love story reminds me of Pride and Prejudice.  When I finished the book I was not content until I watched the movie.  I saw it over a year ago and liked it then, but after reading the book I loved it and it is now one that I must own!  A big thumbs up for this book and the movie!  Now I need to dig into Democracy In America.  Wish me luck!

Hornet's Hideout

We spent last Friday evening fishing, catching, watching, and playing.  We actually saw a Bald Eagle!  Amazing!  We have been enjoying some beautiful spring days! 

  

I heard her say things like, "Isn't he so cute Mom!" and "Take a picture of it."

Easter Sunday

These were the only Easter photos I was able to take this morning.  We ran out of time and I decided not to push it.  I was a bit disappointed, to say the least, and hope to be able recreate take some this next week.  So, since I only have a few photos below to share I will let you imagine.  We were all greys and blues, with bright colors in Steve's tie and Isabelle's dress. 

I have been playing around with effects in photoshop elements.  I still love anything and everything distressed. 

We had ham chowder and rolls for dinner.  Simple and yummy!  Andrew and Erin joined us.  We had a little easter egg hunt and took turns opening the numbered eggs.  Each egg held an item and a scripture that spoke of Christ's experience during his last days on earth.  We watch a couple videos on lds.org.  The videos were wonderful if you have a chance to check them out.  We ended the evening dying eggs with the children. 

Next year I want to extend Easter throughout the entire week.  I always think of doing it but have not planned. 

It was a wonderful day to celebrate our risen Lord.
