The Plan:  Navy Blue Walls, Orange/Red Dresser, Dark Wood Furniture.

Actually going with this wall color.  Love the color schem of this room!

Jakob wants a map above his bed. I think we can arrange something like this.

Would love to do something like this.  I have one little section where I could, but it isn't a great place.  These rooms are tiny and two beds (one being a toddler bed) and a dresser take up the whole room.  Oh, but wouldn't it be pretty!  Maybe I'll just hang a couple on the wall.  Love the rope, but it kindof makes me laugh.  Wouldn't last 5 minutes in my house.  I'm fearful of what my children would do with it!

I have to make something that says this.  Karter just got over a phase where he would say this in the morning.  Love hearing his sweet little voice in the morning.

Something like this above Karter's bed.  With a big "K", photos, and prints.  May a shelf with pegs under for items.

I have a map of the world and am wanting to get a smaller map of Portland. Also want to incorporate some boats, again at Jakob's request. I also ordered name prints for the boys. New creamy knobs for the orange/red dresser. Possibiliy of stars on the wall. Of course some decorated initials will be added. Book storage by each of their beds. Wicker baskets somewhere, yes I think we must.  Oh so fun!

All the woodwork  is installed in the kid's room.  Painter coming to bid job on Saturday, woodwork in bathroom coming this Monday.  Below are photos of what will be the boys room after the trim was removed.  Loved the bright blue these last three years but am so ready for a change!  Beds and misc. items shoved to the center of the room.  Photos are so far from great, but thought I would share.  Great picture of how crazy it can get in a remodel, even a small project like this.  Basically our kid's bedrooms are dumped and messy for a few weeks.  I'm hoping we can get everything scheduled and completed in less then three weeks.  Lots of delays already.

Isabelle and Baby's Room Inspiration

We are working on updating the kid's rooms with new woodwork and paint.  I've also been working on painting some furniture and collecting, making, and purchasing some new decor.  I thought I would share with you some inpirational photos of what I'm planning on doing.  FYI, Isabelle and the baby will share, weather boy or girl, Jakob and Karter will share.

Already have the mirror.  Purchased at Goodwill and already painted white.  Will be doing the pinwheel garland.  Love.

Painted the bed and dresser.  Purchased new drawer pulls in yellow, so cute!  Planning on buying a new white crib from Ikea.  Planning on making the mobile, some of the bedding, a quilt or two, a bed skirt, curtains, and garland.  Just ordered name prints.  (Will have to wait and order baby's name print, ofcourse.)  Painted a few frames white this weekend.  Planning on recovering some letters I have.  I'm very excited to find out what we are having, just to find out what we are having, but also to finalize some plans on this room.  But, I think I do have a good head start, if I do say so myself.  Pictures of the woodwork in progress coming soon.  I'll share more on my inspiration for the boys room tomorrow.

ABC Cross-Stitch

A fun cross-stitch I worked on mostly during that first trimester when I didn't feel like doing anything else!!  It is above the entertainment center in the basement.  It has all the colors I have been incorporating into the basement.  Slowly but surely.  Sad photo, I know.

Organized Toy Shelves

Did I ever tell you that we finished the basement?  Well we did.  We opened up our little "L" shaped basement into the single car garage and finished off the whole space.  We finished it right before we went to Hawaii.  Morning sickness set in a few weeks after we got back so I wasn't able to do much before I was our of commision for a bit.

So now I have been working on getting it organized and set up.  It is mostly set up with our old furniture, so nothing fancy, but it is getting their.  We are planning on buying some new living room furniture for our upstairs and will move our large sectional and TV downstairs so there is a big open space in one of our areas.  There are also corners that need something and I'm letting them just be for now, so not quite done yet, but I thought I would share some areas that are completed.

This basement will fill many of our needs (it is a huge area).  We are planning to bring all the toys downstairs, so it will serve as a toy room.  My craft area takes up one corner.  Steve desks takes up a section.  We will have the sectional and TV in an area.  We also have a sitting area and a table with chairs set up.

So today I'm sharing where most of the toys will be housed.  This basement is full of color so I just threw all the colorful baskets together.

I put last year's yearly photos in frames.

These were fun labels to make and they attached pretty easily.  We'll see how well they'll help us stay organized!
