Simple Days February

 

Working...on our remodel, the tile should be finished in the next couple of days!  Also, we are working on listing a duplex for rent that we just purchased.

Enjoying...time with my kids.  I have been more intentional about spending time with my children these past few weeks.  We have been so busy these last couple of months, and I'm determined that through these busy days, I make time to spend with the ones I love most.  I try to make the time afterschool until bedtime my time with my family.  Steve and I spend time together after the kids are in bed.  Of course a lot of that time with my family is spent driving them to their practices and encouraging (nagging) them to get their homework, chores, and schoolwork done.  But in between the cooking, cleaning, and picking up, I have also been spending a good portion of that time reading, chatting, watching funny videos, and playing card and board games with them and it has been so much fun!  Some days are better than others but I'm relearning that I always need to make this a priority, no matter how busy we are.

Listening...I found a new podcast called Goal Digger Podcast, hosted by Jenna Kutcher and I have really enjoyed it.  I have also enjoyed this new one about Harry Potter. It is called Harry Potter and the Sacred Text. Also I'm often listening to audiobooks when I'm driving, cleaning, or working in my office.

Pondering...how sad I am that we live in a world where children go to school and don't come home.  School shootings tear our hearts to pieces and I just want them to stop.  I know it is a complicated issue, I just wish that we lived in a world where things like this never happened.  I'm trying to do my best here in my home to teach my children and curate an environment of love, tolerance, and compassion.  I would love to reach out and do more 

Reading...The Wednesday Wars and Booked: Literature in the Soul of Me.  Loving The Wednesday Wars, such a good story!

Creating...I thought of a Valentine's Day decor project to do but I never got around to doing it before the big day this year.  Thinking of starting a cross stitch plant project soon.

Watching...This Is Us.  Loving it!  More reading than watching going on around here though.
