I wasn't a huge fan of this one. This was a coming of age story of a girl who worked in Paris in 1989 after she graduated from college. It didn't really have a lot of meat to it and the characters and plot weren't memorable.
War Brides by Helan Bryan
This was a good read. This is story of 4 brides during World War II and how they lived their lives in England during this time in history. The ending was a bit over the top, but the story came together in a meaningful way.
Passion and Purity by Elizabeth Eliot
This was a book about chastity and virginity. This followed the writer as she discussed her challenge with staying chaste as she dated her future husband over a courtship that lasted many years. There were so many little truths I took from this book. It was an honest look at the difficulties and joys of living a chaste life.
The Light Between Oceans by L. M. Stedman
Heartbreaking. I knew from the beginning that this story would be hard to read. A story of a lighthouse keeper and his wife, who find a baby and decide to keep her. It is wonderfully written and the scenes, characters, and situations are vividly real. This story of motherhood, loss, and heartbreak has haunted me since I finished it.
Next on my list…I'm excited for my 2015 book list. I'm not sure what I'll do with the books on my 2014 list that I haven't read, if I will still try to read them, or if I will just let them go for now, but I know I'm ready to look at a new set of books for the next year. I'm planning a post to share the books that I read in 2014.
I'll be sharing my 2015 Book List with all of you in the next few days. It is a little out of control right now, I'm trying to tame it down, but without much success. We shall see. Lots of classic novels on the list that I'm so excited to begin reading.
